Playwrights Lab 2021

The Playwrights Lab is an opportunity provided by Black Creatives Aotearoa for Black playwrights to be paired with industry leading dramaturges to develop a script. In this round there were eight playwrights paired with eight dramaturges; Ahi Karunaharan, Aroha Awarau, Nathan Joe, Dione Joseph, Victor John Rodger, Erina Daniels and Nisha Madhan. Due to covid this lab was held virtually.

Many of these scripts went on to be further developed in the Black Creatives Aotearoa Playwrights Lab Showcase.
