Po' Boys and Oysters
Po’ Boys and Oysters was Black Creative Aotearoa’s first theater production. It is clever witty and beautiful. Written by Estelle Chout, an Afro-Caribbean/queer actress, about a Black lesbian couple living in Auckland who wants to adopt a child.
Performed by Estelle Chout as Flo, Layla Pitt as Jo, Sandra Zvenyika as Marie, Andrew Johnson as Shane and Jack Briden as Felix. Directed by Dione Joseph, assistant director Keagan Fransch, CoPro producer Julie Zhu, Dramaturgy and PR Aroha Awarau.

The key was to capture the style of the play while not losing the fun. Words used to guide the poster shoot and graphic elements were; elegant drama, sarcastic, unapologetic, authentic and bold.
